On June 5th, the presentation will be seen live on TV (via Spike TV and MTV2) and  on the Web (via Nintendo&#8217;s E3 site). On Facebook and Twitter, people will be getting updates from the event as it happens, while on YouTube, Nintendo will show videos of upcoming games and hardware. Even on Instagram the house of Mario will be sharing pictures, and for the ones attending, or if you are not going and are just curious, the E3 app is already available on mobile devices.</p>

Recently FarmVille <a href="http://farmvillefreak.com/farmville-freaks/farmville-familiar-feeds-makeover" >upgraded the Facebook Feed icons</a> for Watering Cans, Mystery Seedlings, and Animal Feeds, but that&#8217;s not all they changed. Today, FarmVille announced that it began rolling out changes to some FarmVille feeds that you share with your neighbors on Facebook. Specifically, the posting of Watering Cans when you harvest an Orchard, the posting of Watering Cans when you grow a Mystery Seedling, and posting Animal Feed when you harvest an Animal Pen are all each being limited to one share per day.</p>
<p>Why is FarmVille doing this? As explained by FarmVille Community Manager, Grimwell, below- many players are experiencing problems posting feeds because of the large amount of feeds being posted in a day. In other words, the many feeds that you post and claim in one day can reach a cutoff point that will force you into an inability to post any feeds. To solve this problem, FarmVille has decided to limit the amount of Watering Cans and Animal Feed being shared in one day because it is these items that are most often unclaimed by players. Although lots of these items are being shared, oftentimes they are left unclaimed and useless. </p>
<p>Please note, even though you will be limited to how many of these items you can share, there is still no limit on how many of these items you can claim. There may be no limit to items you can claim, but it seems natural that there would be less of the restricted items around with the new limitations in place- less items being shares, less items available to claim. Whether this is enough to cause a shortage seems unlikely as both Watering Cans and Animal Feed can be sent as free gifts via the FarmVille Gifting Page. It may make growing up your trees a little more annoying, but there are still water-producing Orchards, Water Wheels, and now Fishing Holes. Also, there is still NO limit to how many Animals, Mystery Seedlings, or fully grown Trees that you can share. </p>

<p>Beginning this afternoon we are rolling out a change to how many times you will be prompted to post Watering Cans and Animal Feed.</p>
<p><span style="color: #99cc00;">The Feeds we are changing are:</span><br />
Posting Watering Cans when you harvest an Orchard<br />
Posting Watering Cans when you grow a Mystery Seedling half-way to the full tree state.<br />
Posting Animal Feed when you harvest an Animal Pen</p>
<p><span style="color: #99cc00;">What changes are we making?</span><br />
In each of the three changes, you will be prompted to post one shared item per day. One Watering Can when you harvest an Orchard, one Watering Can as you grow a seedling, and one Animal Feed when you harvest an Animal Pen.</p>
<p>Harvesting subsequent Orchards or Pens, or watering more than one seedling will result in no further prompts to share these items into your feed.</p>
<p><span style="color: #99cc00;">Why are we making this change?</span><br />
You may have noticed that many Farmers report issues posting items to their feeds. They get messages such as &#8220;An error has occurred, please try again later.&#8221; and the feed never posts.</p>
<p>A leading cause of this is posting a great number of feeds in a day. The platform begins to limit the number of feeds you can post, and locks you out of it after you cross a certain threshold. After that, feeds stop posting and your animals, trees, etc. can&#8217;t be shared with friends.</p>
<p>We studied the feeds that FarmVille posts, as well as the feeds Farmers claim, and believe that these feeds are an ideal candidate to consider for reduction. A great number of Watering Cans and Animal Feed gets posted every day by generous Farmers, but the bulk of it is not claimed, and triggers the platform limit without providing a benefit to Farmers.</p>
<p><span style="color: #99cc00;">Things to Note:</span><br />
This does not change or limit the number of Watering Cans or Animal Feed posts you can click to receive from your friends. It reduces the number of times you will be prompted to post, but not how much you can claim.</p>
<p>This will not impact your ability to share Mystery Seedlings, Animals, or fully-grown Trees.</p>
<p>This will reduce interruptions to your game-play while harvesting orchards and pens, or watering seedlings. For those of us with dozens of pens and orchards, this means we can harvest and get to our rewards all that much faster!</p>
<p>This is going to roll out slowly over the next week. Not every Farmer will see a reduction in prompts to post up front.</p>
<p>After your one prompted post for the day, when you harvest an Orchard or Pen and would normally receive a Watering Can or Animal Feed, you will still receive it (in your Gift Box) even though you are not prompted to post a feed to share with your friends.</p>

<p>As the CEO of Facebook, Zuckerberg has been busy in the last few days mainly because of the decision to take the company public yesterday at a value of $100 billion.</p>
<p>This financial decision was not the only decision he had in mind. Recently, Zuckerberg posted a cover photo of his wedding with long-time girlfriend Priscilla Chan, who just graduated from med school at UCSF (University of  California, San Francisco).</p>
<p>The status on his profile has already changed to married. Her status said &#8220;married to Mark Zuckerberg.&#8221;</p>
<p>Perhaps the best comment about his marriage: Adrian Bunter: &#8220;Congratulations to you both. May your life be filled with joy and excitement. And wow, what a week for you both &#8211; I hope you manage to top it week in and week out together.&#8221;</p>

<p>En diciembre de 2011, 425 millones de usuarios se conectaron a Facebook desde dispositivos móviles. Sin embargo, la red social creada por Mark Zuckerberg no ganó un centavo en términos de publicidad a partir de ese enorme caudal de tráfico. Mientras la versión tradicional de la plataforma demuestra su rentabilidad (durante el último año obtuvo ingresos publicitarios de U$S 3.7 mil millones), Facebook aún se encuentra frente al reto de lograr ganancias gracias al auge de los móviles, sin afectar la usabilidad de la plataforma.</p>

Twitter también ha tomado cuenta de esto, y anunció que sus “cuentas patrocinadas” estarán habilitadas para sus versiones en Android y iOS. Hasta ahora, los avisos publicitarios de la red de estaban disponibles en su sitio móvil estándar, pero no en las aplicaciones nativas para cada sistema operativo.</p>
<p>En el <a href="http://blog.twitter.com/2012/02/promoted-products-now-more-mobile.html" >comunicado</a><a href="http://blog.twitter.com/2012/02/promoted-products-now-more-mobile.html" > </a><a href="http://blog.twitter.com/2012/02/promoted-products-now-more-mobile.html" >oficial</a><a href="http://blog.twitter.com/2012/02/promoted-products-now-more-mobile.html" > </a>que lanzó la red social de los 140 caracteres para informar de los cambios, se hace eje en la comodidad de uso de la plataforma móvil. Según la compañía, en las próximas actualizaciones de las aplicaciones móviles, los tweets promocionados se integrarán orgánicamente, y tendrán un aspecto similar al de cualquier otro mensaje.  Además, aparecerán en la línea de tiempo una sola vez, y desaparecerán a medida que  surjan publicaciones de otros usuarios.</p>
<p>En un principio, los mensajes patrocinados móviles serán vistos por aquellos navegantes que sigan a la marca en cuestión, y luego se van a ir incorporando de manera paulatina a todos los usuarios de la red. Por su parte, las cuentas patrocinadas serán mostradas en la sección “a quién seguir”, tal como sucede en la versión de escritorio de la plataforma. En la actualidad el 55% de los usuarios activos de Twitter se conectan a la red desde dispositivos móviles. Con esta incorporación paulatina de publicidad, la plataforma apuesta a generar un modelo de anuncios poco invasivo, que no impacte negativamente en la experiencia de los navegantes pero que, a la vez, le permita percibir más ingresos a partir de su creciente tráfico móvil.</p>
<p><strong>Las dudas de Facebook</strong></p>
<p>Su actual incapacidad para generar ganancias a partir de la publicidad en dispositivos móviles es una de las principales preocupaciones de la mayor red social. De hecho, fue mencionada como una de sus debilidades en la documentación que la propia compañía presentó ante las autoridades, en la preparación de su inminente salida a bolsa.</p>
<p>Por supuesto que Facebook podría comenzar a incluir publicidad en su plataforma móvil mañana mismo. Pero, al igual que en el caso de Twitter, lo que preocupa a la empresa creada por Mark Zuckerberg es cómo crear un modelo publicitario que no inunde a su interfaz con avisos y termine ahuyentando a los usuarios. La apuesta de la mayor red social es, en principio, imitar la estrategia de su principal competidor Twitter. Al igual que la red social de los 140 caracteres, Facebook planea implementar una solución publicitaria móvil en la cual los avisos aparezcan entre las actualizaciones tradicionales de la plataforma.</p>
<p><strong>El desafío de combinar usabilidad con rentabilidad</strong></p>
<p>Tanto en el caso de Facebook como de Twitter, la pregunta del millón es ¿estarán los anunciantes dispuestos a invertir su presupuesto publicitario en avisos que tengan la misma presencia visual que un mensaje tradicional? Paradójicamente, el éxito de las plataformas móviles está poniendo a las redes sociales en una encrucijada. En dispositivos con una pantalla más pequeña, el espacio para generar contenidos publicitarios sin incomodar a los usuarios es menor que en una computadora de escritorio. Las plataformas se encuentran entonces ante el reto de ofrecer nuevas modalidades publicitarias que logren convencer tanto a anunciantes como a usuarios.</p>
<p>Por el lado de los expertos en marketing, y de aquellas empresas que buscan incrementar su visibilidad a través de la presencia en dispositivos móviles, el desafío pasa hoy más que nunca por la calidad de los contenidos. En un ambiente cada vez más dinámico y cargado de información, las compañías que quieran diferenciarse deberán centrarse en dar a los usuarios información de valor agregado, y apostar a la interacción de dos vías como forma de reforzar su relación con los consumidores.</p>
<p>Lo cierto es que la movilidad es el gran paradigma que está cambiando la forma en que los usuarios navegan la red. Y, sin lugar a dudas, la revolución móvil traerá consigo nuevas soluciones y plataformas publicitarias destinadas a explotar su rentabilidad. Todos los sabemos: no hay modelo comercial que funcione sin una forma genuina de financiamiento. Los consumidores ya están en la red móvil, un reciente estudio presentado por la compañía de anuncios <a href="http://www.inmobi.com/" >inMobi</a> en el último Mobile World Congress  revela que los usuarios de teléfonos inteligentes y tablets consumen más contenidos a través de los dispositivos móviles que mediante la TV. El próximo desafío es que las marcas logren llegar a este enorme universo de consumidores potenciales, con estrategias inteligentes que no impacten negativamente en su experiencia de uso.</p>

<p>In December 2011, 425 million users logged on to Facebook from mobile devices. Nevertheless, the social network created by Mark Zuckerberg didn’t earn a cent from advertising from this enormous flood of traffic. While the traditional version of the platform demonstrates its profitability (during the last year it earned $3.7 billion from advertising income), Facebook is still faced with the challenge of making a profit, thanks to the rise in mobile use, without affecting the platform’s usability.</p>
<p>With <a href="http://www.emol.com/noticias/tecnologia/2012/03/01/528812/ultimas-cifras-de-ericsson-indican-que-hay-6-mil-millones-de-suscriptores-a-moviles-a-nivel-mundial.html" >six billion</a> mobile phone lines worldwide and the percentage of smartphones rising sharply, there is no doubt where the big share of future business is for online marketing. Twitter has also taken this into account and announced that ‘Promoted Accounts’ will be made available for its Android and IOS versions. Until now, advertising messages on the web were available on its standard mobile website, but not on the native applications for each operative system.</p>
<p>In a <a href="http://blog.twitter.com/2012/02/promoted-products-now-more-mobile.html" >press release</a> announcing the changes by the 140 character social network, it underlines the user friendliness of the mobile platform. According to the company, in the next mobile application updates, promoted tweets will be integrated organically, and will look similar to any other messages. In addition, they will appear only once on the timeline, and will disappear as soon as other users’ tweets appear.</p>
<p>To begin with, the promoted tweets will be seen by those users who follow the brand in question, and will later be slowly integrated for all web users. For their part, promoted accounts will be shown on the ‘Suggestions for you’ feature, as happens in the PC version of the platform. Currently 55% of users active on Twitter log on from mobile devices. With this slow incorporation, the platform is betting on generating a minimally-intrusive advertising model that will not negatively affect user experience but will, at the same time, generate more income from the rise in mobile traffic.</p>
<p><strong>Facebook’s doubts</strong></p>
<p>Its current inability to generate income from mobile device advertising is one of the social network’s main worries. In fact, it was mentioned as one of its weaknesses in documentation that that the company itself presented to the authorities in preparation for its imminent listing on the stock market.</p>
<p>Of course Facebook could start to include advertising tomorrow. But, just like Twitter, what concerns the company created by Mark Zuckerberg is how to create an advertising model that doesn’t flood the interface with adverts and end up by driving users away. The bet by the biggest social network is, in principal, to imitate the strategy of its main competitor. Just like the micro blogging service, Facebook is planning to implement a mobile advertising solution in which adverts appear among the platform’s traditional updates.</p>
<p><strong>The challenge of combining usability with profitability</strong></p>
<p>Just as much in the case of Facebook as that of Twitter, the $64m question is, will advertisers be prepared to invest their advertising budget in adverts that have the same visual presence as a traditional message? Paradoxically, the success of the mobile platforms is presenting the social networks with a dilemma. In devices with a smaller screen, the space for generating advertising content without bothering users is smaller than that of a PC. Platforms are therefore faced with the challenge of offering new advertising modalities that manage to convince both advertisers and users.</p>
<p>From the angle of marketing experts, and that of businesses that are looking to increase their visibility through their presence on mobile devices, the challenge has today become a question of content quality. In an increasingly dynamic environment loaded with information, companies that want to standout will have to concentrate on giving users information with added value, and commit themselves to two-way interaction as a way of reinforcing their relation with consumers.</p>
<p>What is true is that mobility is the great paradigm that is changing the way users surf the web. And, undoubtedly, the mobile revolution will bring with it new solutions and advertising platforms destined to exploit profitability. We all know that there is no advertising model that works without a genuine form of financing. Consumers are already using the mobile web, a recent study presented by the advertising company <a href="http://www.inmobi.com/" >inMobi</a> at the last Mobile World Congress revealed that smartphone and tablet users consume more content through their mobile devices than through TV. The next challenge is for brands to reach this enormous potential customer universe with intelligent strategies that do not negatively affect user experience.</p>

Companies like Amazon, Apple, and even Walmart are giants in e-commerce and their online revenues are continuing to soar. Last year, e-commerce raked in $680 billion worldwide. And on Black Friday alone, Amazon sold 32 items per second.</em></p>
<p><em>With the help of services like Facebook, Twitter, and email, companies are able to reach practically anybody on the internet – all 6.8 billion of them. Those pursuing an MBA will definitely need to consider the shear size of the internet when making their future business decisions. And the numbers behind the size of the internet are staggering. In fact, they’re almost unbelievable.</em></p>

<li>Make sure the permission, "Post to Facebook as you" is not authorized for Mafia Wars. Visit the Facebook Privacy Page --&gt; Edit Settings beside Apps and Websites --&gt; Mafia Wars and then remove the permission. If the permission isn't there, continue to Step 2. </li>
<li>Open 3 unframed Mafia Wars(<b><a href="http://facebook.mafiawars.zynga.com/mwfb/index.php?skip_req_frame=1&amp;mwcom=1" >HERE</a></b>) tab and click on "View Parts" under the Ask button for the current Limited Time Property in each and every tab opened.</li>
<li>Click on the "Ask for More" button for each part in each tab. For example, on tab 1, click on the button for Plexiglass Sheet. On tab 2, click on Treated Lumber respectively. <b>Do not publish the Facebook dialog popup until you have clicked on the "Ask for More" button across all 3 tabs!</b></li>
<li>Once all 3 Facebook feed posts have popped up, click on "Share" for all of them in the 3 tabs.</li>
<li>Go to your Facebook Wall or Timeline. You will be able to see the 3 feed posts for the 3 parts generated. You can now shorten the links and send them to your mafia.</li>
</ol>
Click on the links generated from the above feed posts on another account. You will notice that all 3 parts are sent and is received on the account which generated the feeds.<br />

<p align="center"><em>Se cumplen 8 años del nacimiento de la red social que aún revoluciona el mundo 2.0. De la habitación de Mark Zuckerberg a la bolsa, un largo camino recorrido.</em></p>

<p>El 4 de Febrero de 2004, Mark Zuckerberg lanzaba una nueva plataforma social denominada “The Facebook”.  A 8 años de  su aparición,  la herramienta  que nació  inicialmente como un sitio exclusivo para la Universidad de Harvard es la reina absoluta de la sociabilidad online, y  saldrá a la bolsa con una oferta pública inicial que podría valorar a la compañía en 100 mil millones de dólares.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Facebook: un poco de historia</span></p>
<p>Facebook se creó como una red interna de Harvard. En marzo de ese mismo año  y debido a su éxito comenzó a extenderse hacia otras universidades. Fue en 2005 cuando sus creadores decidieron quitarle el prefijo “the” y adquirieron el dominio por la suma de 200 mil dólares. Ese año la red superó los 11 millones de usuarios, y en 2006 se transformó en una plataforma abierta al público, expandiéndose fuera de la red de estudiantes de los Estados Unidos.</p>
<p>A 8 años de su fundación, la compañía supera los 800 millones de usuarios y se prevé que llegará a los mil millones antes de agosto. Hay quienes pueden alegar que el número de cuentas creadas no necesariamente se corresponde con la cantidad de usuarios activos. De todos modos, de acuerdo a datos difundidos recientemente por <a href="http://news.cnet.com/" >Cnet </a>483 millones de usuarios ingresan a Facebook cada día. Esto mantiene a la red social en una posición de liderazgo absoluto e indiscutible frente a otras plataformas como Twitter y LinkedIn. Además, durante el último año la plataforma duplicó sus ingresos por publicidad, que alcanzaron los U$S 3.7 mil millones y significaron ganancias para la compañía por más de mil millones de dólares. De este modo, parecen acallarse los cuestionamientos de quienes dudaban del potencial comercial de Facebook, y aseguraban que la empresa no sería capaz de generar rentabilidad.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration:underline;">La bolsa, el próximo  gran paso</span></p>
<p>En este contexto, todo parece estar listo para la inminente salida a la bolsa de Facebook. Según los analistas, el valor que se le dará a la mayor red social, seguramente el principal protagonista de la actual revolución de las comunicaciones a través de Internet, podría alcanzar los 100,000 millones de dólares. Además, la empresa recaudaría 5 mil millones de dólares a través de su oferta pública inicial. Este número superaría muy ampliamente a la mayor IPO de la industria tecnológica, cetro que hasta el momento ostenta  Google con los 1.9 mil millones que recaudó en su salida a bolsa en 2004.</p>
<p>Lo cierto es que Zuckerberg  parece haber encontrado, nuevamente, el momento ideal para dar el gran paso. Después de rechazar ofertas millonarias de compra durante años, el líder de Facebook decidió que su compañía saliera a la bolsa en una etapa en la que no sólo ostenta el liderazgo en términos de usuarios. Además, ha demostrado que la mayor red social del mundo también puede ser un negocio muy rentable.</p>
<p>Pero, por supuesto, no todas son rosas en el camino futuro de Facebook. La salida a bolsa significará una multiplicación de su número de accionistas, quienes sin lugar a dudas presionarán para incrementar los ingresos de la compañía y traducir sus inversiones en ganancias. Es probable, entonces, que a la red social no le alcance con su éxito actual para conformar a quienes inviertan su dinero en la compañía. Se verá, entonces, ante el reto de seguir impulsando su crecimiento y, fundamentalmente, su rentabilidad, para poder responder a las exigencias del mercado. La gran pregunta que todos se hacen en este momento es, ¿podrá responder a este desafío?</p>

A fines de 2011 fue distinguido por la prestigiosa revista CIO América Latina como el “Visionario Mundial 2011 del mundo IT”.</em></p>

My first blog post here will be related to the votes for New Year's Resolution.
